TRAVEL TO TRANQUILITY
Your journey begins here

Le Nid Belge

We are Jurgen and Bieke, and we warmly welcome you to 'Le nid Belge'!

Near the natural park of the Morvan, we discovered this house where tranquility and nature reign. Jurgen, with his expertise as a landscape architect, tends to the garden, striving for an organic whole with an eye for beauty, detail, and nature conservation. Bieke expresses her creativity by upcycling old furniture and bringing color to life throughout the house. Both of us share a passion for unique objects and art, which you’ll find reflected in various corners of this home.

Enjoy our unique nest in all its beauty!

EXPERIENCE THE OUTDOORS

ALLUY

TRANQUIL YET SURROUNDED

Alluy is part of the Nièvre department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. Nièvre is located in the southwestern part of Burgundy. It’s an area abundant with greenery and water. Nevers is the largest city in this department.

To the west, Nièvre is bordered by the Loire River. In the southwest lies the stunning Bec d’Allier, where the Loire and Allier rivers meet. To the east, you’ll find the vast Morvan Natural Park.

A true oasis for hikers and cyclists!

In the heart of nature

The property is surrounded by a landscape garden of about 1 hectare, seamlessly blending into the rolling countryside. The garden teems with life: the meadow is home to four different species of orchids, and a variety of lesser-known bird species are regular visitors. In the evening, the barn owl can often be heard calling above the terrace. You’re likely to encounter roe deer, red deer, foxes, badgers, martens, or wild boar. Wall lizards bask on the old stone walls of the house, and during damp periods, you might spot the fire salamander near the property. A breathtaking starry sky completes the experience. Lists of the observed flora and fauna are available!

Alluy

Alluy is a small commune in the Nièvre department, featuring a church, a cycling path, and the top-rated restaurant ‘La Grangee’. From here, you can embark on stunning hiking and cycling adventures along the Nivernais Canal or visit the charming town of Château-Chinon.

Morvan

The Morvan, derived from the Celtic words *Mar* (black) and *Vand* (mountain), is a mountainous region in France. It is located in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, spanning four departments: Yonne, Nièvre, Côte-d'Or, and Saône-et-Loire. It is the mountain range closest to Paris. Since 1970, it has held the status of a regional natural park.

Culture

A visit to Bibracte is an absolute must! This site tells the story of the ancient Gallic fortified city in the Morvan. Nevers, on the other hand, is home to the Sanctuaire de Bernadette de Soubirous. Vézelay is recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The region is also filled with numerous stunning castles, each with its own unique history to share!
